Hardware

Fifteen items: a mouse, a laptop, a switch, a rack of servers. The job does not stop at reselling boxes. First we work out what load the hardware will carry, then we deliver it, switch it on and take it under support. You can judge the approach about a year later, when the server comfortably carries a grown database instead of needing replacement.

How the supply works

If you prefer, you need unbox nothing yourself: we deliver and place it straight on the desks, switched on and configured.

01

The task and the budget

The first question is what will run on it and for how long we are buying. Only after the answer do numbers appear in the specification.

02

Options and the invoice

We put several builds at different price points on the table with explanations. The invoice appears once you have chosen.

03

We deliver

We give honest dates and mark separately anything on back order. If the distributor moves a shipment you hear about it the same day rather than on the promised date.

04

Commissioning and registration

We install the system, migrate documents from the old machines, apply asset labels and enter everything into your inventory.

The most expensive hardware is the hardware you buy twice. The same story repeats from company to company: they bought a server with no headroom, the database grew, memory ran short, there was nowhere to expand, and they bought a new one. Paying a little more for headroom at the first purchase would have cost several times less.

Questions and answers

Sometimes it really is simpler to order directly, and we say so. Going through us starts to make sense at volume and with complex hardware: distributor pricing, warranty service for companies without trailing round repair shops, verified compatibility between parts and one person answerable for the whole thing working.

On top of the manufacturer's warranty comes our involvement: we file the service request and you never have to talk to the repair centre. For critical hardware it is worth paying for next-day replacement stock; on servers that almost always pays for itself.

Yes, we work with locally assembled hardware. We prepare the justification and the supporting paperwork, including a price offer for the procurement calculation.

For servers and switches that is possible and handled by a separate service. Computers for staff are usually better bought, though for seasonal hiring renting is also an option.

We work out where adding memory is enough and where it is time to say goodbye. Before disposal we wipe the drives properly: that is the requirement people most often forget when refreshing a fleet.
