Connecting online payments

Taking money is a chain rather than a button: the payment, the fiscal receipt, recording the income in accounting, the refund on cancellation. A break in any link turns into either questions from inspectors or an unhappy customer.

What the work includes

When choosing we look less at the percentage than at whether the provider supports everything you need in settlements.

Discuss the scope

Cards and QR

Payment by bank card, by QR code and through the banks' mobile apps.

Invoices for companies

The invoice is created automatically and the payment is tracked against the bank statement.

Instalments

It makes sense above a certain average order value and is connected on request.

The register

The fiscal receipt is created at the moment the money arrives, otherwise taking payment breaches the rules.

Refunds

We refund the full sum or part of it, issuing the correct fiscal document.

Recording in accounting

Payments arrive in the database and are matched to orders without manual reconciliation.

How it goes

The integration itself takes a couple of days, while getting the site approved by the bank or payment service takes longer.

01

The choice

We compare the fees and the supported scenarios. The lowest percentage is by no means always the best option.

02

Checkout

The documents, the provider's review of the site, getting the credentials.

03

Connection

Embedding it in checkout, integrating the register, configuring the notifications.

04

Testing

A real payment and a real refund before sales open. Mandatory, not something done if there is time.

A payment that goes through without the site being told is the nastiest scenario. The money is taken, the order stays unpaid and the customer rings up to sort it out. Having the site check the payment status itself, rather than only waiting for the provider's notification, closes that hole.

Questions and answers

You cannot do without one. Transferring the money is the bank's job, while the fiscal receipt is produced by the register. Online trade is fine with a cloud register: nothing needs installing in the office, but the integration has to be debugged and tested.

It depends on turnover and sector. The difference between providers usually falls within one percent, and what decides it is not that but whether they support the operations you need: refunds, instalments, invoicing companies.

You will need the terms of sale, a personal data document, bank details, plus descriptions of the goods and the delivery rules. The review takes several days, and without those documents the application simply will not be approved.
