A portal for the public sector

A state organisation site carries noticeably more requirements than a commercial one: accessibility, a mandatory set of disclosures, the state language, hosting inside the country and software from the relevant register. Building that in is cheaper than reworking it after an inspection.

What the work includes

The list of requirements is known in advance, so the project is predictable. The difficulty is one of discipline, not of technology.

Discuss the scope

An accessible environment

A mode for the partially sighted, full keyboard control, correct markup for screen readers.

Mandatory content

The set of disclosures an organisation of your type must publish, and a structure to hold them.

Citizen enquiries

Accepting applications with consent to data processing and registration of incoming items.

Trusted software

The platform and the system environment from the register of trusted software.

Hosting

Servers inside Kazakhstan, since the personal data of citizens is processed.

Protection

Countering common attacks, separating access to the admin area, keeping logs.

How it goes

Six to eight weeks, and separate time is needed to test accessibility: it cannot be checked by eye.

01

The list of requirements

We gather exactly what applies to your type of organisation.

02

Design planning

We arrange the mandatory sections into the structure and draw the mock-ups with accessibility in mind from the start.

03

Development

Implementation, a mode for the partially sighted, enquiry forms, protection.

04

Check

We test with tools and by hand and write the results up as a document.

Both language versions must be complete, not decorative. A situation where only the menu is translated into the state language while the content of the sections stays in another is judged unambiguously during an inspection. Filling both versions is planned in parallel with development; otherwise only one is ready at handover.

Questions and answers

It depends on the type of organisation: government bodies, schools and medical institutions each have different mandatory disclosures. The first thing we do is compile a list of what applies to you specifically, so nothing surplus appears and nothing mandatory is lost.

For government clients yes, and it concerns not only the platform itself but the system environment too. Presence in the register is checked before a solution is chosen, not after the contract is signed.

No, if the personal data of Kazakhstani citizens is processed, and contact forms always mean it is. Hosting must be inside the republic, and confirmation is usually requested.

We will build a portal to the requirements

State the type of institution and what you need. We will compile the list of mandatory requirements and cost the scope.
